In the auditorium of the Ipiranga Museum, the past and the present meet before the screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

On November 8th, at 3 PM, the event will take place. <\/span>second edition of the Cinema at the Museum program<\/b>, which promotes the screening of films, followed by a discussion with filmmakers and special guests.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>In this edition, the feature film will be shown. <\/span>All the Dead<\/i><\/b> (2020)<\/b>, directed by <\/span>Caetano Gotardo<\/b> e <\/span>Marco Dutra<\/b>, a film that premiered in <\/span>Official Competition of the Berlin Film Festival<\/b> and it was widely recognized by national and international critics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Set in S\u00e3o Paulo at the end of the 19th century, the film portrays the period immediately following the abolition of slavery, following two families, one aristocratic and the other made up of formerly enslaved people, and exposing the social and racial tensions that shaped Brazilian society.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span> The work proposes a reflection on memory, colonial heritage, and inequality, inviting the public to think about contemporary Brazil from the perspective of its past.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the session, there will be a discussion with the director. <\/span>Caetano Gotardo<\/b>, author of films such as <\/span>What Moves<\/span><\/i> (2012), <\/span>His Bones and His Eyes<\/span><\/i> (2019) and <\/span>All the Dead<\/span><\/i> (2020), and with the musician and researcher <\/span>Salloma Solomon<\/b>, responsible for the film's soundtrack and a leading figure in Afro-Brazilian cultural studies. The discussion will be moderated by <\/span>David Ribeiro<\/b>, a professor at the Paulista Museum.<\/span><\/p>\n

O <\/span>Cinema at the Museum<\/b> It is a biannual initiative of the Ipiranga Museum that seeks to bring the public closer to discussions about history, culture and memory through cinema, strengthening the museum as a space for dialogue with current issues.<\/span><\/p>\n
