Ipiranga Museum

Digitization Center
and Intelligent Treatment
Collections - CDTIC

What is it

The CDTIC was designed to serve researchers who mobilize collections for their research and institutions that preserve collections of texts and images through:

– Digitization of texts and images according to digital preservation standards and parameters;

– Training in the use of digital repository software and collection management, through technical visits, courses and internships;

– Sharing intelligent tools for transcribing handwritten texts.

Structure

The CDTIC will have 2 studios equipped with software and equipment for digitizing texts and images of historical value, and 1 studio dedicated to training professionals.

Service

Researchers will be assisted by requesting high-resolution images from the Institutional Archive and Digital Processing Service. Researchers should complete the form below.

Institutional demands will be met through prior planning established through partnerships with the Museu Paulista of USP. Within the scope of this project, submitted to FAPESP in October 2025, the CDTIC will begin its activities serving two partner institutions – the Sergio Buarque de Holanda Center for Historical Research Support / Department of History – FFLCH/USP and the Lasar Segall Museum.

Both institutions will be assisted on two fronts:

• In the case of CAPH, CDTIC will provide training for the use of the Tainacan software, developed to meet the demands for interactive repositories for disseminating collections of public assets, and will meet the demands for digitizing the funds and collections that document the institutional life of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of USP deposited there;

• In the case of the Lasar Segall Museum, the CTIC will provide training for the use of the Obatala software for digital process management and will meet the demands for digitization and transcription using AI of the Lasar Segall archival collection and documents from the Institutional Archive.

Opening hours:
