Ipiranga Museum

Since its opening to the public in the 19th century, the Ipiranga Museum has established a very close relationship with formal education. Many visitors, when remembering the Museum, associate it precisely with a visit made with school, whether in childhood or adolescence.

This program aims to structure educational proposals designed specifically for this audience: teachers and students of various age groups and educational levels (Early Childhood Education, Elementary School, High School, Youth and Adult Education, and Higher Education).

For the formation of teachers, Regular training courses related to the themes of the Museum's exhibitions are offered, as well as support materials for educational activities developed in the classroom. The objective is to expand channels of dialogue between the Museum and education professionals from public or private schools, contributing to the development of different pedagogical proposals and fostering the appropriation of discussions proposed by the institution based on works from its collection. Furthermore, it seeks to bring together and sensitize formal education professionals to the educational potential of working with museums. The educational materials developed can be accessed below in the Downloads section, and are also distributed during in-person training sessions.

For activities involving students, Educational activities are offered that explore the Museum's exhibition spaces through thematic selections, taking the National Common Curricular Base as a reference. During educational visits, Museum educators seek to establish dialogues with the groups, working with proposals that connect different exhibitions. For each age group there is a distinct educational proposal, and during the visit, pathways for interpreting the works in the collection are constructed, in dialogue with the perspectives brought by the visitors.
