The training for education professionals presents the exhibitions of the Ipiranga Museum and their possibilities for use in the classroom. The activity is aimed at teachers of Early Childhood Education, Elementary School, High School, and Youth and Adult Education (EJA).
During the meeting, the Museum's team will present the permanent exhibitions and the temporary exhibition “Liberdade: plural neighborhood,” which opens on July 7th. The objective is to demonstrate how objects, images, documents, artworks, and multimedia resources can support different pedagogical practices.
The training proposes thinking of the Museum as a space for learning and research. The exhibitions help to work on themes such as memory construction, territories, work, and cultural heritage. The activity also presents ways to plan group visits as part of school work.
The proposal values material culture as a source for teaching. This means observing objects, images, and documents as clues to understand society, its changes, and its memory disputes. The meeting also invites educators to reflect on different ways of telling history and on the importance of including diverse voices in the educational process.
