Between January 13th and 16th, from 2 PM to 6 PM, the Ipiranga Museum and the Research Group “Ana Gertrudes de Jesus, woman of the land” (FFLCH/USP) are promoting the course “"History, daily life, and Black presence in São Paulo based on the collection of the Museu Paulista"”, part of the 27th USP-School Meeting. The training proposes a reflection on the work trajectories, sociabilities, territorialities and memories of Black people in the city, based on images, objects and historical documents.

Participants will be invited to discuss representations, erasures, and resistances in everyday urban life, articulating issues of race, gender, and class. The program includes critical readings of sources from the collection, analysis of museum narratives, and proposals for mediation in the classroom, in a space for dialogue between the museum and basic education.

As part of the USP-School Encounter program, this initiative reaffirms the University's commitment to the continuing education of basic education teachers, promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences that strengthen public and pluralistic education.
