What memories can everyday objects hold?

In the workshop “"Embroidering memories on paper"”, Participants are invited to tour the exhibition. Design and Everyday Life, Exploring embroidery, photographs, and postcards that reveal personal and collective stories and memories. Then, in the Atelier, the public learns the technique of paper embroidery, using postcards from the Museu Paulista as a medium to record their own memories and impressions of the visit.

Design and Everyday Life

The activity is part of the exhibition's educational program. Design and Everyday Life in the Azevedo Moura Collection, curated by Adélia Borges. The exhibition presents an extensive collection of objects, especially those collected in Rio Grande do Sul by the couple Maria Cristina and Carlos Azevedo Moura.

These are pieces of furniture, household items, tools, and photographs that help to understand how Italian and German immigrants, who arrived in southern Brazil starting in the 19th century, built a new life in the country.

Aimed at young people aged 10 and up, the workshop proposes a creative and emotional perspective on the exhibition, bringing the public closer to more complex discussions through artistic practice.
