How has the garden of the Ipiranga Museum changed over time?
During the guided tour “"Investigating the Museum's garden"”, The public is invited to walk along paths, observe plants, and reflect on how the transformations of the green space and Independence Park reveal social, cultural, and landscape changes. Furthermore, the activity highlights the relationship between the garden and the monument-building, showing how nature is also part of the material culture of our society.
Spring of Museums 2025
This activity is part of 19th Spring of Museums, a cultural mobilization promoted by the Brazilian Institute of Museums (Ibram), which takes place from September 22nd to 28th throughout Brazil.
In 2025, the theme is “Museums and climate change”, This work draws attention to the environmental crisis as a reality that redefines landscapes, cultures, and ways of life. The proposal is to reflect on the role of museums in preserving the past, giving meaning to the present, and projecting possible futures in the face of environmental impacts.
